Constance Hoffman

The renowned costume designer studied at the University of California and at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. She regularly collaborates with Europe’s leading opera houses and festivals, such as the Bavarian State Opera, Bregenzer Festspiele, Paris Opera, Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, Glyndenbourn Festival – there she worked with the director R. Carsen on the major production of Monteverdi’s Coronation of Poppea. She has captivated audiences in Tokyo and Tel Aviv with her distinctive approach to costume decorations in opera theatre. In addition to R. Carsen, she has collaborated with opera directors Ch. Adlenom, K. Warner. B. Midler, and others. Apart from the European stages, she regularly works with American theatres, such as those in New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Los Angeles, San Francisco. Her signature productions include The Queen of Spades at the Bavarian National Opera, The Tales of Hoffmann Tales in Santa Fe and Traviata in Tel Aviv. Ms Hoffmann is also lecturer in set design at the Tisch School of Arts.
